Dr. James Forest
|
Dr. James Forest is the Director of Terrorism
Studies and Associate Professor of Political Science at the
U.S. Military Academy, where he has worked since 2001. He teaches
undergraduate courses in terrorism, counterterrorism, information
warfare, international relations and sub-Saharan Africa. His
research covers topics such as recruitment, training, and organizational
knowledge transfer. He holds a top secret clearance with the
U.S. Department of Defense, and was selected by the Center for
American Progress and Foreign Policy Magazine as one of "100
of America's most esteemed terrorism and national security experts"
and participated in their Terrorism
Index studies for the past three years. He has been an invited
speaker at a variety of government seminars, national and international
conferences, and other venues. Recent overseas lectures have
included Zurich (Switzerland), Ankara (Turkey), Haifa (Israel),
and St. Andrews (Scotland). Here are handouts [PDF] from two

Dr. Forest received his graduate degrees from
Stanford University and Boston College, and undergraduate degrees
from Georgetown University and De Anza College.
